Jenny Zarzour Ferguson, a 35 year old Huntsville native, is a 2007 graduate of Auburn University. From 2002-2006 Ferguson, formally Zarzour, was a starting midfielder for the Auburn University women’s soccer team under Coach Karen Hoppa. She was a member of the 2002 SEC championship team, and the team won four SEC Western Division titles during her time there. She ended her soccer career at Auburn in the fall of 2006 and was named to the SEC 2nd team. She was also given the "Barbara Camp Unsung Hero Award" for her play in the 2006 season, and received SEC academic honors all five years.
Ferguson got involved in coaching by working summer soccer camps for Auburn University and other surrounding campuses. She began coaching for the Auburn Thunder in the fall of 2006. Ferguson's biggest success as a coach was coaching the Auburn Thunder 97 girls to two consecutive Divivsion I state championships, the first time ever for Auburn Soccer.
In the fall of 2007 Ferguson was named the Assistant Director of Coaching by Matt Hooper. In 2008 as an assistant director she led the Academy program, assisted in U8 recreational night, and continued to build the extra training opportunities for all ASA members. Ferguson was named the Director of Coaching in the summer of 2008 and has watched the club grow immensely over the past 10 years. Ferguson currently holds a USSF National C license and a National Youth License. Ferguson is also a 7th grade English teacher at East Samford School and is beginning her 13th year of teaching.
