The Auburn Thunder U16 Girls won the 2010 SuperClubs Memphis Soccer
Tournament, held May 7-9 at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex. The
tournament featured teams from around the southeast. The U16G division
included teams from Tennessee, Louisiana and Alabama. The Thunder girls
won the championship by defeating the Lady Lobos from the
Collierville Soccer Association, 3-2. The team is comprised of girls from Auburn, Alexander City, and Montgomery.

Auburn High School in Final Four
The Auburn High School boys team advanced to the Final Four for the Class 6A state championship by defeating Dothan 4-0 and Prattville 2-1. The boys play Grissom May 7th at 7:00pm in Huntsville for a chance to play in the championship game against Fairhope or Hoover. The championship game is schedule for 1:00pm on Saturday, May 8th in Huntsville. Both games will be held at John Hunt Park.

U10 Boys & Girls Finish 2nd in Hoover
On April 16-18, the Under 10 Boys and Under 10 Girls teams participated in the Hoover Havoc tournament in Hoover, AL. Both teams competed hard and placed 2nd in their divisions. Congratulations to both teams for representing Auburn Thunder well in Hoover!

Referee Clinic on April 10-11
On April 10-11, a USSF entry level referee clinic will be held at Auburn University. No soccer of officiating experience is necessary, but you must be at least 14 years old. Anyone interested in officiating should try to attend. The clinic will be held Saturday and Sunday from 8-5 in room 203 of Ann Upchurch Hall. Dress comfortably because there will be some field work. ODP Showcase Tournament
On March 26-28, Alabama Youth Soccer held its 6th annual Olympic Development Program College Showcase Tournament in Decatur, AL and several Auburn Thunder players were a part of it. Teams participating included the ODP programs from Louisiana, Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, and Indiana.

Support "Soccer For A Cure"
Auburn High School soccer, with the help of East Alabama Medical Center are raising money for Soccer For A Cure (soccerforacure.org). Money raised goes directly to help local families struggling with cancer. You can help by purchasing t-shirts (see website) and attending the Auburn High vs. Prattville games on April 2 at Duck Samford Stadium.
This weekend (March 6-7), Auburn Thunder is hosting the 4th annual Tiger College Showcase for elite girls' teams from the U14 through U19 ages. This showcase will bring some of the regions best girls club teams together with college coaches from across the country at some of the best playing facilities in the country. Our own U16 girls team will be competing in this tournament with 2 games on Saturday (Noon and 4:30) and at least one game on Sunday (10:00). So come out on this beautiful weekend and watch some good soccer and root on our U16 girls!
