The U16 Girls played well in the Tiger College Showcase this weekend in Auburn, but finished 2nd.

Under 11 Boys

The U11 Boys won their first game, but dropped their final two games in the Silver bracket of the 2010 Vulcan Cup (B'ham). On Saturday morning, 5 different Thunder players scored en route to a 6-1 win over TFC United (Tupelo, MS). Vince Hume had 2 of the goals--including a PK--while Eddie Naranjo, Will Atkinson, Avery Atkins and Craig Hensarling each scored one goal in the win. Assists in this game were provided by Vince Hume, Will Atkinson and Carson Dark. Matthew Kisor and Avery Atkins split at goalie.

In the afternoon game on Saturday, the Thunder only trailed 2-0 at half, but allowed the game to get away from them in the 2nd half as they fell 7-2 to the JFC-Green club from Jackson, MS. Eddie Naranjo scored the Thunder's first goal on a free kick, and Avery Atkins added another goal, but the Thunder was outshot 19-6 in the 7-2 loss. Matthew Kisor handled the goalie duties for the contest.

On Sunday, the Thunder outshot the Concorde-Black club from Atlanta by a margin of 12-7, but were saddled with a 2-0 loss when the final whistle blew. Avery Atkins and Eddie Naranjo had the majority of the shots for Auburn, which was hampered offensively with Vince Hume missing the game (sick). In the goal, Craig Hensarling and Matthew Kisor shared the duties. As it turned out, the Concorde-Black team played in the championship game of the Silver bracket, and lost 4-3 to the FL Alliance-Black club from Tennessee.

The U11 Boys return to action on Saturday, March 13th as they travel back to B'ham for a league game at Briarwood at 9:30 a.m.
